A 5km Family Fun Run will be held in Troodos on September 10 as part of the Sea-to-Sky event, starting at 11am at the Jubilee Hotel in Troodos. It aims to raise awareness of the plight of the threatened Griffon Vulture in Cyprus -- whose numbers have halved to only 8 on the island this year as a result of poisoning. -- and to raise funds for the Birdlife Cyprus campaign to protect these magnificent birds.

It is International Vulture Awareness Day on September 3, and the Griffon Vulture features on the Sea-to-Sky logo, designed by Olov Leon -- a powerful link between the birds above and the runners below who are all part of the same universe.
We therefore hope to use the event to raise funds to help BirdLife Cyprus with the important work they are doing for the conservation of the Griffon Vulture through the LIFE With Vultures project.

(so that we can get an idea of numbers) but only pay on the day at registration (5 euros). No medals so that the full amount can go to BirdLife Cyprus. but plenty of prizes for winners and lucky draws to be donated by BirdLife Cyprus and Cyprus Trail Runners.
